Six weeks ago I purchased a 1972 Super Beetle. My first car was a 1972 Beetle, and call it nostalgia but I have always wanted another one. I am a 42 year old married mother of two teenagers, and have never worked on a car before.
Needless to say it has been an adventure so far. So I decided to start a blog to document my journey.
I am without question the worst VW mechanic ever to pick up a screwdriver, but we are making progress and one day will have a drivable car.

What I have Learned Working on my Beetle
- Being able to see something doesn't mean it is easy to reach
- Painter's tape sticks well to windows and headliners, it does not stick well to vinyl dashboards and dirt.
- Zip ties are second only to duct tape when fixing things that are broken
- When you take the seats out, you must use a milk crate to sit on
- When you drive sitting on your milk crate, don't pop the clutch or you WILL fall off
- You will need a tetanus shot
- GoJo smells better than it tastes
